Chabot Space & Science Center Announces Change in Hours During Summer Season FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 30, 2002, Oakland, Calif. — Chabot Space & Science Center announces a change in its public hours of operation for summer starting on June 29, and continuing through September 2, 2002. Effective June 29 through September 2, 2002 Chabot's summer hours are: Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 am to 5 pm. Exhibits, Planetarium & Theater shows are all open to the public during these hours. Free access to the Telescope Observatory is offered on Fridays and Saturdays, dusk to 11 pm. Chabot will be open on Labor Day, Monday September 2, from 10am to 5pm.Chabot Space & Science Center is located at 10000 Skyline Blvd. in Oakland’s Joaquin Miller Park. General admission is $8.00/$5.50 seniors and children. Children under 3 are admitted free; Students with ID receive a $1.00 discount. General admission to the galleries is FREE on the first Wednesday of each month (with an additional charge for Ask Jeeves Planetarium and Tien MegaDome Theater).
