Development Database Intern
Position Summary
The Development Database Intern is an unpaid role that
works alongside the Development Team to help create and
manage a robust major giving program for Chabot Space &
Science Center. You will assist in the general support of
the Development Team and focus particularly on the
development of our donor database. Use your technical skills
and project management skills to enhance the quality of our
major giving program and streamline our database
productivity. This is an excellent opportunity to gain
experience in database development, project management, and
all aspects of fundraising for an important nonprofit
organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a data-cleanup plan
- Develop and implement department workflow plans
- Develop database use strategies and implement those
plans
- Create user guides for database users
- Identify new opportunities for managing our donor
cultivation process and implement them in our database
and office workflow plans
- Assist with general administrative duties as
necessary (we all pitch in)
Training
Orientation & training provided by Manager, Corporate
Relations and Database Administrator
Requirements
- High level of organization, flexibility and problem solving
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Comfort with learning new database applications quickly
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 2007 software
- Excellent communications skills; verbal, written and listening
- Ability to take initiative and posses excellent follow through
- An interest in development, education, community involvement and social
responsibility is important
- This is a career volunteer position and may open up many doors to the right
candidate within the business community
- Awareness and sensitivity in interacting with diverse populations

This is an unpaid position.
