COMPOST HOTEL (ages 5 & up)

Can't get your kids to stop playing in the dirt? Well, let 'em get knee-deep at Chabot! Your guests will learn all about composting while creating their very own take-home edible Compost Hotel.

Price: $350 members/$375 non-members

POLAR ICE CREAM (ages 5 & up)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Learn how and why things freeze. Can you tell the difference between the polar caps on Earth and Mars? Work with our chemistry experts to create - and eat - your very own ice cream.

Cost: $300 members/$325 non-members

SOLAR CAR CHALLENGE (ages 8 & up)

Solar energy is one of the best ways you can help the environment. We can't think of a better way to show off this concept than by having kids design, build and race Lego solar cars! Rain or shine, come and see how fast, tall and creative you can make your car.

SUPER SPACE HATS (ages 5 & up)

Use your creativity to design and decorate your own Solar System Space Hat. Great for younger kids!

POP ROCKETS (ages 8 & up)

Have you ever wanted to launch a rocket into orbit? Put on your goggles, roll up your sleeves and stand back as you send your own space shuttle off into the wild blue yonder - with the help of our space commander!

Price: $250 members/$265 non-members

COSMIC PACKAGE (ages 3 & up)

Celebrate your fun-filled day at Chabot Space & Science Center by checking out all our interactive exhibits and seeing a show in our state-of-the-art Planetarium or our MegaDome Theater!

Cost: $150 members/$165 non-members

CELEBRATION TIMES

Table space can be scheduled for one of the following time slots:

FOOD OPTIONS

You may buy sandwiches and drinks from the Celestial Café or you may bring your own food. (Café does not supply birthday cake). You must supply your own cake, decorations, tablecloths, hats, plates, utensils and favors.

If you would like to order pizza, you may contact Pastino's Pizza on Park Blvd., 510-482-4701. They will provide your basic XL cheese or pepperoni pizza for $10, plus tax, AND will deliver for free, AND will take a check upon delivery!

Reservations

Please make your reservations at least two weeks in advance by contacting the group sales coordinator at (510) 336-7311 or e-mail us at groupsales@chabotspace.org.

Payment

A NON-REFUNDABLE $50.00 DEPOSIT is required when you reserve a date. A confirmation letter will be sent upon receipt of deposit. THE REMAINING BALANCE IS DUE WITH YOUR FINAL GUEST COUNT AND SHOW CHOICE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PARTY DATE. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD).

Restrictions

We ask that you not bring balloons, glitter, confetti, or piñatas. These items can be blown into the forest and cause harm to animals.

Entertainment

No entertainment is allowed at birthday parties. We believe that the various shows and activities available at Chabot Space and Science Center will provide your birthday guests with plenty of fun!

Guest check-in and parking

Parking is free at Chabot Space & Science Center. You will then check-in with Guest Services and receive your group tickets. (Your reservations will be under the birthday child’s name). UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE PARENTS TO DROP OFF THEIR UNESCORTED CHILDREN BEFORE YOU ARRIVE!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Does the 15 guests in the package mean only children or both kids and adults?
A. The 15 does include both children and adults. Please see individual packages for the additional cost of children and adults over 15 headcount.

Q: When does the balance and final headcount need to be paid?
A: The final balance and headcount (both children and adults) needs to be paid no later than one week prior to the party.

Q: What if I have last minute guests that RSVP, can I pay for them at the door?
A. Yes, you would pay for them at the door.

Q. Is there a host in the room?
A. You will have a Chabot staff member that will assist you through out your time at the center. However, we do not provide a full time staff member in the room with you.

Q. Are parents of the birthday child included in the guests count?
A. Yes, unless you are a member.

Q. Do you have a fridge to store a cake?
A. We do not have fridge space for your food but can supply a storage area and cart to store your items until needed. You can bring in an ice chest to keep food cold.

Q. Does Chabot supply goodie bags?
A. We don’t provide goodie bags but do offer a do-it-yourself activity included with each package. You can also pick up fun items in our gift shop.

Q. Do all the activities and shows need to be done within the 1.5 hour table time?
A. No, the 1.5 hour is just your reserved table time for the party portion of your event. Your guests can enjoy the center for the entire day if they like. They can also purchase additional movie tickets for that day at the group rate price.

Q. What supplies do I need to bring – table cloths, decorations, etc?
A. The tables in the tent and room are between 54” and 60” rounds. You will need to bring the following items: paper plates, cups and napkin, plastic silverware, decorations (no confetti or balloons), birthday cake, candles and a lighter.
