Chabot Space & Science Center offers year-round educational opportunities for teachers and exciting programs for your students:

  • FEAST (Fun Exchanges and Activities for Science Teachers) and NEST (Network of Elementary Science Teachers) offer teachers opportunities to network at Chabot: Would you like to have the fun of an interactive meeting with peers in an informal setting? Click on the link above for details.
  • Outreach programs, including classes, the STARLAB Portable Planetarium, and CSSC's traveling science fair, Chabot-to-Go.
  • OUSD Teacher Institute: Attention Oakland Unified School District 5th and 6th Grade Teachers! Chabot is launching its first Earth Science and Climate Change Teacher Institute. Enrollment will be limited to 20 teachers. Find out more about this exciting new opportunity. Stipends and teaching materials will be included.
  • K-12 field trips: Science classes in our state-of-the-art astronomy, life science, physical science, and computer labs and classrooms, and environmental education hikes through the surrounding redwood forest, plus hands-on exhibits, our state-of-the-art Ask Jeeves Planetarium, and more.
  • Teacher Research Center, a forum for discussion and collaborative learning of the best practices of science education.
  • Teacher Workshops:  Summer institutes for teachers focus on new content, methods and pedagogy in science education, with follow-up training throughout the academic year.
