Chabot Space & Science Center volunteers work in a unique and vibrant environment that combines a beautiful park setting with sophisticated technology. You can make astronomy and science come alive for visitors from around the Bay Area and the world. No science or astronomy background needed - extensive training opportunities available. Volunteers at Chabot significantly outnumber staff. There are hundreds of volunteer positions awaiting people eager to share the wonders of the universe and how they relate to our daily lives. Volunteer opportunities include: Exhibit Explorer, School Group Guide, Classroom & Lab Assistant, Challenger Learning Center Mission Assistant, Environmental Program Team, Observatory Deck (Telescope) Crew, Planetarium Presenter, Galaxy Explorers (Teen Volunteers), Outreach and Administrative Support. Through ongoing training and volunteer experience, you can become qualified in almost any aspect of Chabot’s operation.
