Development Intern

Chabot Space & Science Center is looking for a development intern to support our fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will have an interest in non-profit fundraising and will be a team player, flexible, and a problem solver who works well collaboratively.

This internship is up to 16 hours/week and is flexible. This role requires a 5-month minimum with the possibility for an extension.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, this role will gain valuable hands on experience event fundraising strategy, anniversary campaign strategy, research experience and working cross departmentally on events and fundraising campaigns. Gain experience with communications, research, solicitation, stewardship, and event production.

 

Tasks may involve:

-Researching and preparing solicitation letters.

-Working on event planning, development, and production.

-Support with mailings and all printed and electronic communications.

-Support timeline and communication strategy for 20th anniversary campaign.

-Social media support to integrate with year-long campaign strategy.

-Research corporate and foundation donors for engagement.

 

Qualifications:

-Interest in fundraising and development efforts at a non-profit organization.

-Strong writing, research, and communication skills.

-Strong knowledge of Excel and Word.

-Altru, Outlook, and Constant Contact knowledge encouraged but not required.

-Course credit and/or a $500 stipend available.
