POSITION IMPACT
Chabot Space & Science Center is seeking a Project Manager to join our Experience Studio—a multidisciplinary team leading the creative direction of Chabot’s experiences in the Center, out in the community, and online. As the Studio’s Project Manager, you will manage timelines, budgets, and internal and external partners, so that the team can successfully execute new exhibits and experiences. You will work with an internal team including exhibit developers, designers, and content experts, as well as work to develop external partnerships. The ideal candidate will be able to bring their knowledge of project management tools and systems and apply them as needed to support the creative development of overlapping, fast-paced projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for budget and schedule management of the Experience Studio and all experience related projects for Chabot Space & Science Center (86,000 square feet)
- Conceptualize and develop project budgets, schedules, and workflow strategies, including defining major milestones and critical paths, for the successful completion of tasks on time and on budget.
- Writes and oversees contracts between the Center and external vendors including technical consultants, exhibit designers, fabricators, audio-visual producers, etc.
- Create or modify contracts for independent contractors and external partners.
- Facilitate project planning sessions with the team.
- Oversees purchase agreements, fiscal year budget planning, and reconciliation with accounting departments.
- Maintain and update the exhibition development schedule, meeting calendar, and task management/project management software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in presentation and project management tools
- Experience with iterative development strategies
- Strong administrative skills: ability to lead, organize, delegate, and ensure good communication within teams; ability to foster collaboration within internal and external teams.
- A thorough understanding of the exhibit development process for the purpose of developing workflows and schedules
- Experience managing or coordinating project activities, preferably in an informal education, non-profit art, or science environment.
- Flexible approach to changes while maintaining the ability to meet critical deadlines.

Position Type: Full Time. Expected Hours of Work: 40
SALARY/ BENEFITS
Salary Range: $50-75k year
