Family Nature Adventures: Redwoods

Interactive Workshop: Learn what makes coast redwoods the tallest trees on Earth and how they thrive in the unique climate of the Oakland Redwoods. Discover how fire, fog, and time shape these forests and why they are such an important part of our local ecosystem.

Guided Nature Walk: Step beneath the cool canopy of our very own redwood trails as we observe bark textures, search for cones, and identify the layers of life that flourish in the understory. Along the way, we’ll look for signs of wildlife and learn how these ancient trees support the plants and animals living right here in our community.

Join us every 2nd Saturday March – November for an unforgettable journey into the stunning parks surrounding Chabot Space & Science Center. Each month features an exciting new theme, from the tiny world of insects to the grandeur of towering redwood trees.
