First Fridays in Project Create: Rainbow Connection
These mesmerizing monoprints were made by visitors to the Project Create Workshop during January’s First Friday event! Participants made a series of prints using semi-transparent inks to create a one-of-a-kind image that explored the full spectrum of color.
Monoprinting is a printmaking process that produces a single unique image by removing paint from a printing plate or a similar smooth surface. We provided cotton swabs and sponge brushes in a variety of sizes for people to experiment with techniques. By adding a transparent base to the acrylic paint, a visible layering effect emerged with each new print.
