NASA and SpaceX Launch Watch Party

May 30, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Wednesday, May 27
1-2 p.m.

Unfortunately, the NASA and SpaceX Launch was rescheduled for Saturday at 12:22 PST due to weather. We will hold another NASA and SpaceX Launch Watch Party from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. PST.

Watch along with Chabot’s astronomers virtually as we witness this historic launch. At 12:22 p.m. PST, watch the launch of the first astronauts from American soil since 2011. NASA astronauts will fly to the International Space Station on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft.

Astronomers from Chabot Space and Science Center will be watching along and responding to questions in the comments. We invite our community to join us for questions, conversations and celebrations of this landmark launch.

There is a possibility that the launch is postponed due to weather. Cloud cover, wind and lightning can result in a reschedule. In that case, our watch party will be postponed accordingly. Back up time is Sunday, May 31, at 12:00 p.m. PST. Be sure to check back for updates.

When you respond that you’re going to this event, you’ll receive a notification when the watch party begins in the “Discussion” section.
