Bring your students on a journey of discovery and wonder! Chabot’s newly reimagined field trips are open to grades TK–12, available to all schools and organizations, and they’re more flexible, customizable, and engaging than ever before.

 

New Itineraries – Your Day, Your Way

We’ve restructured our field trip experience to give you more choice and more control. Select from multiple unique itineraries designed to cater to different learning goals and grade levels. Once you book, your itinerary is set for the day, no surprises, just streamlined, meaningful exploration. 

 

What’s Included in Every Field Trip

  • Exhibit Exploration: Explore hands-on exhibits including:
    • Studio 1: NASA Ames Center
    • Studio 2: Going The Distance
    • Studio 3: CoLab: Other Worlds
  • Observatory Access: Visit historic telescopes and enjoy a hike or lunch in the redwoods. Weather permitting
  • And one or both of the following, depending on your package:
    • Planetarium Show: Experience our upgraded 70-foot dome for an immersive journey through the universe.
    • Live Science Show: Enjoy live science demonstrations led by our expert educators.

Please ensure you are downloading the itinerary you purchased. We will provide printed copies of itineraries for all teachers and chaperones at check-in.

 

Exciting New Workshops

We’ve added brand-new workshops that align with current science standards and support in-classroom learning. But don’t worry, we’ve kept your favorites, too! All workshops now come with Post-Visit Learning Materials to keep the discovery going at home or in school.

  • Living Worlds (Grades 5–8) Discover life on Earth to imagine life beyond it.
  • Lil’ Lab Explorers (Ages 2–5) Sensory science exploration for your youngest learners.
  • Guided Nature Hike (Grades K–12) Hands-on outdoor science in the beautiful redwoods.

Field Trip Rates

We’ve updated our group sizes! All packages now include up to 40 people total—students and adults. Please maintain recommended adult-to-student ratios for supervision.

1. Space Adventure Mission Visit – $390

Includes:

  • Exhibits
  • Planetarium Show
  • Space Adventure Mission Log (self-guided activity)
  • Max: 40 people (students + adults)

2. Workshop Package Visit– $525

Includes:

  • Exhibits
  • Planetarium Show
  • Live Science Show
  • 60-minute Private Workshop led by our Science Associates
  • Post-Visit Learning Materials
    Max: 40 people (students + adults)

 

Reservation & Payment Info

  • A non-refundable $25 deposit is due at the time of booking.
  • Full balance is due 30 days prior to visit. Unpaid reservations will be canceled.
  • Visits canceled with more than 30 days notice will receive a refund minus the $25 booking deposit. Visits canceled within 30 days notice will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Additional participants must be pre-approved. Extra tickets are $14/person.
  • Title 1 Schools receive 20% off all reservations!
