Workshop visits include Post-Visit Learning Materials with science updates, engaging resources, and hands-on activities to continue the fun in class or at home.

Every Field Trip Includes:
- Time to explore the center’s exhibit spaces, including Studio 1: NASA Ames Visitor Center for real astronaut stories, Studio 2: Going The Distance for human space exploration, and Studio 3: CoLab: Other Worlds for hands-on discovery of life beyond Earth
- One Planetarium Show in our newly upgraded 70-foot dome, immersing students in the wonders of space and science.
- One Live Science Show, featuring exciting demonstrations led by Chabot’s expert science educators, showcasing fascinating concepts in chemistry, physics, and more.
- Access to our observatory complex, home to three historic telescopes! Visitors can explore these large-scale telescopes and take in breathtaking views, as well as enjoy a nature hike or outdoor lunch in Redwood Park.
Packages
Chabot offers two different packages for field trips.
1. Standard Visit (Exhibits + Planetarium Show + Live Science Show + Space Adventure Mission Log)
Up to 32 students max per group, 8 adults, including teacher, $390
Up to 6 groups booked per visit date.
2. Workshop Package (Exhibits + Planetarium Show +Live Science Show + 60 min Workshop + Beyond the Workshop Educator Guide)
Up to 32 students max per group, 8 adults including teacher, $525
Up to 3 groups booked per visit date.
Our 60-minute workshops are designed to cater to a variety of grade levels. Read more about our offerings to choose the best one for your classes.
Please fill out a field trip request form. A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required three weeks prior to your visit. Any group that has not paid the deposit will have their reservation canceled.
We are happy to still offer our 20% discount to all Title 1 schools!
Final number of visitors is due 2 weeks prior to visit date. Additional students and/or chaperones must receive advance approval and tickets can be purchased at a rate of $12 per student ticket and $15 per chaperone ticket. If additional students and/or chaperones do not receive preapproval they may not be permitted to participate in the field trip.
