Group sales offer admission to the center from 10 AM – 5 PM, Wednesday through Sunday. We have a 200-person per group capacity, including all necessary chaperones. We do not provide itineraries for group sale visits.

Center Accommodations
- Please note that the Center is open to the general public so be prepared to share the space.
- Outdoor spaces are available during the summer months.
- Space to eat lunch in our group lunch area is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are welcome to make the short walk down to the Redwood Bowl Picnic Center.
- We do offer food in our cafe, but in limited quantities and selection, so we highly recommend groups pack lunches. Storage bins are available at check-in and are given on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Parking space is limited for buses. Drop off will take place outside of the main entrance. Cars should park in the parking structure before congregating behind the concrete bollards in the front circle.

Chaperones
- A 1:7 chaperone-to-child ratio is required for groups with children under the age of 18.
- Youth groups without sufficient adult supervision may not be admitted to the Center.
- All chaperones must be over the age of 18, and trained to oversee those they are bringing to the Center. Chaperones may not be students or youth participants in the organization they are visiting with.
- Chaperones or additional visitors not included in the original group reservation must pay separately upon arrival.
- Children must stay with their chaperones at all times, inside all galleries, planetarium, theater, cafe and gift shop, and in our outdoor areas.
- Chaperones will be required to wear badges provided by Chabot during the duration of the visit.
Groups with Special Needs
- Chabot promotes inclusive engagement and believes science centers are for everyone. For kids and adults with learning and developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum, please note that the experiences are open-ended, hands-on and may be highly sensory in nature. We suggest you visit in advance to assess the experience before attending as a group, as many spaces can become loud and crowded, particularly during field trip season Wed-Fridays, 10-2 pm. Chaperones are responsible for assessing, recognizing and acting upon any issues that could arise with the group participants. Chabot staff are not trained to provide specialized support. For those groups requiring special physical considerations, please call in advance to find out more about what the Center offers to help make your visit a success. All spaces are ADA-compliant and wheelchair accessible.
Group Size and Payment Requirement
Groups 12 or more save on admission when you book in advance. Parties of 50 or more are required to make a reservation by buying tickets at least two weeks in advance before visiting, and may not be admitted to the Center without a reservation.
We require a single payment of cash, check, purchase order or major credit card (American Express, VISA or MasterCard) to purchase a group visit. Pre-paid tickets are not subject to refund. Coupons, passes, or membership discounts are not applicable to group sales.
We offer free admission to bus drivers and personal assistants helping with visitors with special needs. Chaperones or additional visitors not included on the original group reservation must pay separately upon arrival.
